WESTPORT — Fun on the fairways. Laughs on the links. And a slice of silliness.
The Remarkable Drive-In is teeing up a few special attractions in conjunction with its Monday screening of the ’80s comedy, “Caddyshack.”
And Wednesday, the late-’90s comedy “There’s Something About Mary” takes a swing at comedy from a very different direction.
Ticket proceeds benefit the Remarkable Theater’s goal of opening a nonprofit movie theater in downtown Westport that will employ people with disabilities.
The drive-in screen is located in the parking lot at 50 Imperial Ave.
Tickets can be purchased at the Remarkable Theater’s website here.
Featured films
“Caddyshack,” Monday, July 11: A big-name cast is featured in this 1980 movie, where things go off course as a golf caddy tries to win a college scholarship. (The screening was rescheduled from June 27 because of inclement weather.)
Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Ted Knight lead the cast.
The R-rated movie will be shown at 8:30 p.m., doors open at 7:30.
Attendees are encouraged to wear “their wildest ‘Caddyshack’-inspired costume,” with prizes awarded by ASF Sports & Outdoors of Westport, according to an announcement from the Remarkable Theater.
Another extra for the evening will be presentation of a short documentary featuring several of the best-known local golf pros, including Jack Powers, Kammy Maxfeldt, Ray Ford, Jon Janik and Mark Farrell.
“There’s Something About Mary,” Wednesday, July 13: A romantic comedy, of sorts, unfolds as a man whose high school prom date was called off by an awkwardly intimate mishap, and years later, hires a detective to track down that long-lost date of his dreams.
Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon, Lee Evans and Chris Elliott star in the 1998 film.
The R-rated movie will be shown at 8: 30 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m.
