The fifth pajama-themed fundraiser benefiting Rach’s Hope is set for 7 p.m. Saturday. March 23, at the Fairfield Theatre Company, 70 Sanford St. in Fairfield.

The PJ Gala will feature music performed by Michael Cantor and the band Ellis Island, food by AMG Catering and Tito’s cocktails. There also will be auction.

Rach’s Hope was established to honor the legacy of Rachel Doran, a 2015 graduate of Staples High School, where she was an honors student and costume designer for the Staples Players. In 2018, as a rising senior at Cornell University studying fashion design and business, Doran fell fatally ill from a rare reaction to common medications.

The nonprofit, established by Lisa, Alan and Ellie Doran, supports families with sick children by helping with issues like food, lodging, transportation and encouragement, so they can focus on their children’s well-being.
