WESTPORT — Moviegoers are in luck, which that “Peanuts” anti-hero Charlie Brown usually is not, with a special night of screenings today at the Remarkable Drive-In.

Two seasonally appropriate Charlie Brown stories will be featured Monday, Nov. 1 — one taking on elections while the other is a Halloween tale. The latter has been rescheduled from Saturday because of inclement weather.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Remarkable Theater’s goal of opening a non-profit movie theater in downtown Westport that will employ people with disabilities.

Tickets can be purchased at the Remarkable Theater’s website here.

The animated Charlie Brown double-feature begins at 7 p.m. today (doors open at 6): The classic Peanuts pumpkin-patch tale, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” will be screened first. The gang goes trick-or-treating while Linus waits for the giant Halloween orb to bestow gifts.

Next, since Monday is the eve of Election Day, “You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown,” is an apt choice. This time, Linus runs for school president, after Charlie Brown steps aside to instead manage his campaign with help from Lucy.

Both movies are rated PG. Total run time will be approximately just under an hour.
