WESTPORT — Dogs and some of their best friends in the art and music worlds will be celebrated at a “Family Day” event June 18 at MoCA Westport.

The event features Piglet, the pink, blind puppy whose story was chronicled in a book, “Piglet Comes Home,” by his owner, Westport veterinarian Melissa Shapiro.

Activities start at noon Saturday, June 18, on the museum grounds, 19 Newtown Turnpike. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children over two years old and no cost for those under two; families with three or more children pay $30 total. To purchase tickets, click here.

In addition to Piglet and Shapiro, the event will feature:

  • Norwalk artist 5iveFingaz, creating a mural of Piglet in real time.
  • Music performed by Westporter Dustin Lowman.
  • A “sensory-focused art activity” led by MoCA Westport instructors.
  • Visits to the MoCA gallery showcasing “SPARK,” the all-grades exhibition of artwork by Westport schools’ students.
  • College Creamery ice cream truck.
  • Dogs available for adoption, brought to the event by Westport Animal Shelter Advocates.
  • Homemade dog treat give-aways from Earth Animal.
