WESTPORT – The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public meeting–via Zoom–to hear and discuss a presentation and discussion of RACE Coastal Engineering‘s Comprehensive Beach Resiliency Planning Studies for Westport on Monday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m.
The presentation will provide an overview of the studies for Compo Beach, Old Mill Beach, Burying Hill Beach, and Canal Beach, including existing site conditions, potential beach profiles, anticipated regulatory requirements and cost implications related to future beach resiliency planning.
According to the Parks and Rec release, Westport’s beaches are among our most treasured natural resources. As coastal conditions continue to evolve, the studies are intended to help inform future planning efforts by examining the challenges and opportunities associated with protecting and preserving these important public spaces.
Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a public discussion.
The Parks and Recreation Commission encourages all residents and interested community members to attend and learn more about the studies and the future of Westport’s beaches.
