Apple, blueberry and pumpkin pies from Lyman Orchards can be ordered to support the WYWL fundraiser.

WESTPORT — Get a sweet taste of the holidays, while helping the Westport Young Woman’s League’s year-round tradition of supporting community causes.

Pies from Lyman Orchards in Middlefield can be ordered from WYWL — through Tuesday, Nov. 23 — to support the club’s grants program that funds non-profit organizations in Westport and surrounding towns.

A variety of pies and cookie dough from the 275-year-old orchard is on offer to support the fundraiser.

Orders, frozen fresh for delivery will be available to be picked up from WYWL members at Westport VFW Post 399, 465 Riverside Ave., on Friday, Dec. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Oatmeal-raisin cookie dough and more also can be ordered.

Members of the club also are offering to wrap gifts for the holidays, for a recommended donation of $5 per gift. 

Gifts to be wrapped can be dropped off at VFW Post 399 on Friday, Dec. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. Gift wrapping offered is on a first-come, first-served basis.
