
WESTPORT — A program exploring the unsolved heist of priceless paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Degas from a Boston museum more than three decades ago is set Nov. 16 at the Westport Library.
The “Vanished” program, featuring several panelists who have researched the art theft from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the library, 20 Jesup Road.

The panel includes: Stephen Kurkjian, journalist and author of a book about the heist, “Master Thieves;” Robert Wittman, a retired FBI agent and co-author of the best-selling memoir, “Priceless: How I Went Undercover to Rescue the World’s Stolen Treasures, and architect, academic and Fulbright specialist Allen Swerdlowe.
They will discuss the still-unsolved 1990 theft of 13 masterpieces from the Gardner museum, reviewing the paintings that were stolen, the suspects and theories about “the world’s biggest theft of art objects from a single institution,” according to a publicity release.
