WESTPORT — Fall … first leaves, then snow.

Older adults who may need assistance with seasonal fallout can find help with outdoor chores through a program organized by the town’s Department of Human Services.

The agency has a list of local high and middle school students available to be hired for a range of outdoor jobs such as raking leaves and clearing snow from driveways and sidewalks.

A $12 hourly rate of pay is suggested by the DHS.

Students interested in being hired by a senior adult should contact the Department of Human Services. Written permission from a parent or guardian is needed, officials said.

Senior citizens looking for assistance also should contact DHS.
