WESTPORT — The drive to get more electric-powered vehicles on the road literally hits the road with an Oct 2 parade.
The “Green Wheels EV Parade,” organized by the EV Club of Connecticut and the Sustainable Fairfield Task Force, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Saugatuck Railroad Station’s northbound parking lot.
The parade of EVs — open to both club members and non-members — will wind through local streets and end at the Bob’s Shopping Plaza, corner of Post and South Benson roads in Fairfield.
A “Green Wheels Expo” of electric vehicles will follow the parade at the Bob’s Plaza lot until 2 p.m. Admission is free.
The local events are planned in conjunction with “National Drive Electric Week 2021.”
The events will take place in compliance with current COVID health and safety protocols. Masks are required, according to organizers.
