WESTPORT — Gift cards are being collected by the Westport Domestic Violence Task Force for holiday-season donation to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.

Collection of gift cards — from Dec. 5 through Dec. 12 — will help residents of two safe houses managed in the area by the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, as well as the group’s community clients.

Organizers of the drive suggest donation of gift cards from businesses such as Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Amazon, Target and Walmart. Smaller denominations, $25-$50, are encouraged so gift cards for various stores can be bundled together for families, according to the task force’s announcement.

Donations can be left at the Police Department communications center, off the lobby, at 50 Jesup Road. They also can be mailed to the department, attention of Lt. Jillian Cabana, the task force co-chairwoman. For questions or more information, contact Cabana at 203-341-6000 or jcabana@westportct.gov.
