WESTPORT – Business executive and government official Fred Hochberg will discuss global trade policy, including President Donald Trump’s tariff strategy, during a conversation with Westporter Steve Parrish at the Westport Library on Thursday.

The event, which takes place from 7 to 8 p.m., is part of the Common Ground Initiative, the library’s forum for public discourse. 

Hochberg is the former chairman and chief executive officer of the Export Import Bank of the U.S.; acting administrator of the Small Business Administration; dean of the Milano School of international Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School; and president and chief operating officer of the Lillian Vernon Corp. He is also the author of “Trade is Not a Four Letter Word.”

Parrish is the retired senior vice president of global corporate affairs at Altria Group, Inc., and the founder of Steve Parrish Consulting Group, LLC. Additionally, Parrish is co-chair of the library’s Common Ground Initiative.
