FAIRFIELD — Want to learn more about how to identify plants and determine which ones you can take home to add to a meal? The Fairfield Nature Center is introducing a new educational series that can help.

The Plant and Wild Edibles series is a three-part course taking place across three Saturdays: March 28th, April 11th, and April 18th. Each class runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The series is led by Joe Ross of Eat the Planet, which helps people find foraging groups and classes nationwide. Topics include how to identify common local tree and shrub species, plant life cycles, the edible properties of local plants, and underrated alternative crops that can be grown or salvaged locally.

The course is $60 for members of the Connecticut Audubon Society and $75 for non-members. For more information, click here.
