WESTPORT — The “Dream Event” supporting A Better Chance of Westport’s programs that give young men of color an opportunity to learn and live in Westport is planned April 26.

The fundraiser will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road. To reserve tickets or become a sponsor, click here.
The 2025 Dream Event will feature speeches, an auction, refreshments and drinks.
Receiving the nonprofit’s inaugural “Community Ally” honor at the event will be Dan Woog of the “06880” blog.
Yoel Hooper-Antunez, a former ABC Westport student, also will deliver the speech that he planned to give at the time of his high school graduation five years ago, but could not because of COVID pandemic restrictions.
A Better Chance of Westport, established in 2002, provides academically gifted and motivated young men of color an opportunity to study at Staples High School, reside at the agency’s Glendarcy House in Westport and experience the community through activities shared with local host families.
The program’s goal, according to its website, is to “develop the scholars into future leaders at the collegiate, professional and community levels.”
