WESTPORT–Cross Highway, from its intersection with North Avenue to Wakeman Farm Drive, will be closed to through traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, according to a release from the Department of Public Works.

This week’s closure will make it possible for contractors to do some utility work ahead of the upcoming Cross Highway / Dead Man’s Brook bridge replacement project, which runs from around June 19 through Aug. 20. 

During the closures, local traffic will continue to have access to Cross Highway from Bayberry Lane to Wakeman Farm Drive. All through traffic will be directed to follow the posted detour route during construction hours.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area, allow additional travel time, and obey all posted construction, detour, and safety signage.
