WESTPORT — A “Winter Fun Fest” seasonal celebration will by hosted Dec. 4 by the Westport Country Playhouse’s Youth Council for the benefit of Homes with Hope.
The event — featuring music, games, crafts, a scavenger hunt, food and photos with Santa — is set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the playhouse courtyard and Lucille Lortel White Barn, 25 Powers Court. Snow date is Saturday, Dec. 18.
The “Winter Fun Fest” is the first event staged by the theater’s Youth Council, a group of area high school students. Net proceeds will benefit Homes with Hope, the Westport-based nonprofit working to end homelessness and hunger in the region.
“Homes with Hope’s kindness and dedication to building up our community inspire us,” Cessa Lewis, Playhouse Youth Council member, said in an announcement for the event.
“For over 30 years, Homes with Hope has been serving individuals and families from around Fairfield County giving them a warm home and putting them back on their feet. We’re so grateful for their services and the opportunity to help amplify and support their mission.”
In addition to a range of winter-themed activities planned by organizers, the Staples High School Orphenians and Chamber Orchestra will perform musical entertainment, and the Food Truck Refinery will offer culinary fare.
Reservations to take a photo with Santa are also available, but slots are limited, according to organizers. To reserve a photo session, click here.
A food drive to benefit Homes with Hope and a toy drive supporting Toys for Tots also will take place. Names of attendees donating a non-perishable food item, new book or toy to the charity drives will be entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to a show in the playhouse’s 2022 season.
Proof of vaccination is required for attendees 18 years old and over, according to playhouse officials. Masks are required for those 2 years old up to 18.
Admission to “Winter Fun Fest” is $5 for those 4 to 18 years old, $10 for adults and $20 per household. To purchase tickets online, click here.
A limited number of tickets may be purchased at the door, subject to availability.
