WESTPORT — The spirit of Halloween will haunt downtown Oct. 29 when lots of little spirits, joined by gremlins and ghosts, princesses and pirates, superheroes and Swifties, and maybe even a Beetlejuice apparition or two march up Main Street in search of treats.
The town’s annual Children’s Halloween Parade is set to step off at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, from the corner of Main Street and Post Road East. (Rain date is Oct. 30.)
The event — open to all children, particularly those 8 years old and younger — is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department, Westport Downtown Association and Westport Police Athletic League.
Marchers will head up Main Street, trick-or-treating at shops along the way, to Avery Place and then onto Myrtle Avenue to Veterans Green.
Entertainment and refreshments will be available starting about 4 p.m. on Veterans Green.
Parking will be prohibited on Main Street from 2 to 4 p.m.
