WESTPORT — U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal was among some officials who came out to show support Saturday afternoon for abortion rights.

Part of a nationwide Women’s March, more than 100 people, some from surrounding towns, spanned both sides of the Ruth Steinkraus Bridge on the Post Road with signs and shouts of disdain following restrictive abortion laws passed last month in Texas.

Many people drove by honking horns in support, while others — including one preteen boy on a bicycle who pedaled by and screamed, “You’re all going to hell!” — were not as supportive.
