WESTPORT — A “Tornado Watch” tops the menacing menu of warnings for what could be a wild weather day in Westport on Sunday.

The warning about tornadoes, issued by the National Weather Service for all of Connecticut shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, is in effect until 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, the weather service also has issued advisories warning of possible flooding today and early tomorrow because of heavy rainfall expected throughout the day.

Periodic rainfall throughout Sunday also could be punctuated by thunderstorms, according to the forecast.

The high temperature Sunday is expected to reach about 80 degrees.

Storms are forecast to clear from the region late Sunday into Monday.

On Monday, skies should be mostly sunny, with a daytime high temperature reaching about 90 degrees.

However, there is a chance for more storms and thunderstorms Monday evening, according to the weather service.
