WESTPORT — The intense Saturday afternoon storm that ripped through town shut down several roads because of downed tree limbs and power lines.

Streets closed to traffic, according to police, include:

55 Long Lots Road: Tree limb partially blocking road.

220 South Compo: Closed because of down wires.

73 Turkey Hill Road South: Closed because of a downed tree.

330 Post Road West, westbound lane:: Closed due to downed tree.

Greens Farms Road at Maple Avenue: Closed because of a downed tree.

Greens Farms Road at Maple Lane: Closed because of a downed tree.

The storm, which unleashed heavy rain, at one point in the afternoon had knocked out power to nearly 1,000 Westporters, but by 6 p.m. Saturday, Eversource reported 60 customers remained without electric service.
