DESPERATE MEASURES : A Musical Comedy Gone Wild
Book and Lyrics by Peter Kellogg
Music by David Friedman

When the dangerously handsome Johnny Blood’s life is on the line, he must put his fate into the hands of a colorful cast of characters including a mysterious sheriff, an eccentric priest, a narcissistic governor, a saloon girl gone good, and a nun out of the habit. Together, they face uncharted territory as laws are broken and hearts are won. Before the sun sets, will they be able to rise up and pull off the greatest act yet, or will Johnny be left hanging?

This witty and wild musical comedy takes the Bard’s Measure for Measure and shakes things up with a toe tappin’ score by award-winning composer David Friedman. Featuring fresh and feisty book and lyrics by two-time Tony nominee Peter Kellogg, Desperate Measures is fully loaded with laughs.

Ticket prices range from $51-$66 plus fees and can be purchased online at www.musictheatreofct.com or over the phone at (203) 454-3883. MTC MainStage is located at 509 Westport Ave in Norwalk, CT.

Presented as part of MTC’S 40TH MAINSTAGE SEASON. The 2026/2027 season of productions features: The recent Broadway hit HARMONY (Sept 11-27) telling the remarkable true story of the Comedian Harmonists; the return of an MTC audience favorite: ALWAYS…PATSY CLINE (Nov 6-22); the hilarious Wild West musical DESPERATE MEASURES (Feb 5-21), and the multiple-ending murder mystery CLUE, based on the beloved movie and board game (April 4 – May 2).

About MTC MainStage: Since 1987, Music Theatre of Connecticut’s professional Equity acting company, MTC MainStage, has been bringing critically-acclaimed theatre to Fairfield County.
