WESTPORT — A new center for sports rehabilitation and physical therapy services, operated by Stamford Health and the Hospital for Special Surgery, has opened in Westport.

The 2,100-square-foot facility is located at 1529 Post Road East.

It is Stamford Health’s first stand-alone physical therapy site operated in collaboration with the Hospital for Special Surgery, as well as its first ambulatory location in Westport, according to a publicity release from the healthcare business.

Therapists at HSS Sports Rehab-Westport are “experienced in working with patients of all ages and all levels of activity, from weekend warriors to elite athletes,” Stamford Health’s release states.

The Westport facility “represents the next chapter in our collaboration with HSS and a continuation of our strategy to provide easy access to care throughout Fairfield County,” Liz Longmore, the Stamford Health senior vice president of Ambulatory Services and consumer and patient experience, said in the release.

Longmore said services offered will combine “trusted care provided by Stamford Health with the renowned expertise of HSS to deliver best-in-class rehabilitation and physical therapy services.”

The collaboration between Stamford Health and the Hospital for Special Surgery, based in New York City, was established in 2017 to offer a range of “advanced orthopedics” services.

HSS Sports Rehab-Westport will be open Monday through Friday by appointment only. Call 203-276-4763 to make an appointment or fax a physical therapy referral to 203-276-4764.
