WESTPORT — Hartford HealthCare is expanding its local network of care.
By the end of the summer, Hartford HealthCare expects to be operating three facilities providing a spectrum of care in Westport.
The newest site, at 1505 Post Road East, houses a family medical practice, which currently is accepting new patients.
Two doctors are on staff now and eventually four family practice doctors will be based there, according to Andrew Carroll, HHC senior director of practice strategy operations/Fairfield region for Hartford HealthCare Medical Group.
That site also will house three specialty practices: medical weight loss/bariatric surgery, neurology/movement disorder and plastic surgery. The plastic surgery unit is headed by Dr. Elizabeth Stirling Craig, who trained at Yale and has been practicing at HHC’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. She is a director of HHC’s micro-surgical breast reconstruction practice.
Hartford HealthCare also plans to open an urgent care center at Compo Acres shopping center, 374 Post Road East, in space formerly occupied by United Bank.
The facility will have five exam rooms and full X-ray capability. Plans call for the center to be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. It is expected to open in August.
“With these facilities operating between two of Westport’s major roads — Compo and Maple — Hartford HealthCare is bringing high-quality medical care to Westporters with convenience and cost effectively,” Bill Jennings, president of HHC’s Fairfield County region, said in a publicity statement.
HHC’s Spine and Wellness Center, 300 Post Road West, has been in operation since August 2020.
