Negroni season arrives at The Cottage Westport

WESTPORT–Just in time for Negroni Week, The Cottage Westport has declared it Negroni Season, with Ralph León, Director of Hospitality, featuring four takes on the classic cocktail through September 30, from the traditional Italian original to riffs with rum, mezcal, walnut and coffee:

Classic Negroni | gin, Carpano Antica vermouth, Campari
Caribbean Rum Negroni | rum, Carpano Antica vermouth, Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters, Campari
Mezcalroni | mezcal, Suze gentian liqueur, Lillet Blanc
Cafe Negroni | gin, Carpano Antica vermouth, “Coffee Campari”

For León, Negroni season marks the natural turn into fall, when guests start reaching for bitter, spirit-forward drinks. He runs the bar with a classics-first philosophy: his team masters the originals, then has room to experiment with seasonal ingredients, spirits and technique. The Negroni lineup puts that approach on one menu.
