WESTPORT — Egg-themed artwork by Linn Cassetta is on display in the April artist-of-the-month exhibit at the Westport Book Shop.
The exhibit can be viewed through April 30 at the book shop, 23 Jesup Road.
The shop will host a reception for the artist at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23. To register to attend, call 203-349-5141 or email RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org.
“The symbolism of the egg is staggering,” Cassetta said in a publicity release. “It represents the mystery of life in one exquisite and simple package. It bestows peace upon the beholder. It is simultaneously both strong and fragile.”
Cassetta, who previously had a career in apparel and footwear design, manufacturing and marketing, after moving to Westport focused on interior design, painting and trompe l’oeil. She earned a BFA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, an MA degree from the Royal College of Art in London and is a member of the Artists Collective of Westport.
