WESTPORT–Sustainable Westport will present “Plastic People: The Hidden Crises of Microplastics,” a film that takes a deep dive into plastic and its effect on the environment and our bodies, at MoCA/CT on Thursday, July 17 at 6 p.m.

The film’s website describes how author and science journalist Ziya Tong, collaborating with director Ben Addelman, take viewers through society’s history with plastic, and how it has embedded itself into our everyday lives.
“Almost every bit of plastic ever made breaks down into “microplastics.” These microscopic particles drift in the air, float in all bodies of water, and mix into the soil, becoming a permanent part of the environment,” according to the film’s website.
As winner of the Environment Award at the Hamptons Doc Fest and one of Variety’s best documentaries of 2024, this film is part of Sustainable Westport’s mission to help the Westport community to continue to thrive environmentally.
