WESTPORT — “Stars on Stage,” a three-part concert series, is set to shine at the Westport Country Playhouse later this month.

The productions, Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, in addition to playing before in-house audiences, will be taped for broadcast on national television at a later date.

Tickets are now available for playhouse subscribers, current ticketholders and donors. A limited number is also on sale for the public. Complimentary tickets are set aside for local first responders, students, teachers, and groups and organizations, according to a playhouse press release.

“Stars on Stage” will showcase Broadway performers Shoshana Bean (“Wicked,” “Waitress”) on Tuesday, Aug. 31; Gavin Creel (“Hello, Dolly!” “The Book of Mormon”) on Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Brandon Victor Dixon (NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Hamilton”) on Thursday, Sept. 2.

There will be two one-hour performances each evening, at 7 and 9 p.m.

Andrew C. Wilk, a resident of Westport, is the creator and executive producer of the concert series. He was executive producer of PBS’s “Live From Lincoln Center” from 2012-19, and is a five-time Emmy Award-winning producer.

Mark Lamos, the playhouse artistic director, said in a press statement: “This is a rare opportunity for our audience to simultaneously be involved in the taping of a national television program and see live concerts on the playhouse stage in this, our 90th-anniversary year.

“A shot in the arm as powerful as the vaccine!” he added.
