WESTPORT — The 81st annual “Candlelight Concert” performances at Staples High School may have passed, but the musical tradition will continue to cast a holiday glow with a video recording set to stream Dec. 23.

The online presentation by the Staples musicians and singers will be streamed at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, via the Staples Music website.

The Candlelight Concerts were performed Dec. 17 and 18, but audience size was limited to ensure social distancing because of the pandemic.

In announcing the broadcast performance, the Staples Music Department’s faculty stated: “We wanted this year’s Candlelight Concert to have an undertone of unity and human connection that we hope will carry the audience through the holiday season amidst the challenges of the pandemic.”
