WESTPORT — An exhibit of photos, featuring elements like oil and water highlighted against colorful backgrounds, will be displayed during March at the Westport Book Shop.

The photos, by Karen Kallins and Veronica Hauresz, can be seen during regular business hours through March 31 at the store, 23 Jesup Road.

A reception for the exhibit, called “Immiscible” by the photographers, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the book shop. To register, contact the shop by calling 203-349-5141 or emailing

“I have a passion for making abstract photographs that have strong shapes and/or colors, that are captivating to look at, and that spark the viewer’s imagination,” Kallins said in a publicity release for the exhibit.

Kallins has exhibited her photographs in Fairfield County and Vermont. More of her work can be seen at her website.

“ ‘Immiscible,’ a project with just a few simple elements, gave me the space to express myself through color, shapes and creativity. It was a lot of fun,” Hauresz said in the publicity release.

Hauresz, a member of the Weston Library and Stamford Photography clubs, has exhibited work around the state and in California, and has won awards at U.S. and European shows.
