WESTPORT–The Yale Alley Cats, an undergraduate a cappella group from Yale University that performs around the world, will present a concert at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport (UU Westport) on Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.
A premier high school ensemble, the Soundwaves, will start the evening, which will take place at 10 Lyons Road, Westport.
“This evening will be informal, fun, and light-hearted, featuring a memorable repertoire of songs from The Alley Cats,” said a release from the UU Westport. “Folks will recognize many pieces, presented with fresh interpretations of rhythm, harmony and style.”
The Alley Cats sing their versions of songs made famous by music icons such as Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Michael Bublé and Alica Keyes.
“The Soundwaves will warm up the crowd with some stirring pieces from their repertoire as they prepare to go to the national a cappella convention,” the release says.
The concert is free for students with a valid student ID. Adult tickets are $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at https://uuwestport.org/alley-cats/ or at the door.
