WESTPORT – Legendary jam band Dark Star Orchestra brought its renowned Grateful Dead-inspired performance to the Levitt Pavilion on Saturday night, drawing a packed crowd for a memorable summer concert. The ticketed event raised funds to support the Levitt’s mission of providing dozens of free live music events throughout the summer in Westport.

Known for recreating iconic Grateful Dead setlists, Dark Star Orchestra (DSO) has built a reputation as one of the top tribute bands in the world. Since forming in 1997, the band has played over 3,000 shows, earning praise from both critics and fans alike for their ability to capture the spirit and improvisational style of the original band.
The Levitt Pavilion, a Westport cultural hub, offers a series of free summer concerts and events funded by sponsorships, donations, and ticketed shows like Saturday’s performance.
Dark Star Orchestra’s current summer tour spans 12 states across the Northeast and Midwest in July and August, featuring stops in iconic venues and festivals. Their Westport show combined fan-favorite Dead covers with DSO’s signature energy, creating an unforgettable night by the riverfront.

The Levitt Pavilion’s free summer lineup continues in the weeks ahead, offering a mix of genres including jazz, classical, rock, and world music – all in a scenic outdoor setting.
