NORWALK — The Norwalk Art Space will introduce a new exhibition this week that celebrates “nourishment in its many forms.”

Abundance will open on Thursday, Sept. 3rd. It will be on view through Nov. 5th.

The exhibition examines all of the ways that humans sustain themselves. These include food, labor, community, creativity, and natural systems. Featured artists include Mia Brownell, whose work looks at the biological and cultural systems behind our food; Wende Caporale-Greene, who honors farmers, bakers, and food artisans; Duvian Montoya, who focuses on the role of immigrant laborers in food production; Constance Old, who explores both the beauty and vulnerability of the oceans; and Joan Fitzsimmons, who examines the richness and resilience of the natural world.

Abundance will serve as the backdrop for the Norwalk Art Space’s annual ART BASH fundraiser on Sept. 24th, which will have the theme “Five Years of Feeding Passions” and honor restaurateur Bill Taibe.

An opening reception for Abundance will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3rd. An artists’ talk will take place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 18th.
