WESTPORT — A “reel” experience for young filmmakers, and a “real” outlet for acoustic musicians and other performers — two programs, one place: MoCA Westport.
Over the next several weeks, the museum will host the two events to “provide community members with opportunities to showcase their artistic talents,” according to a press statement.
“Teen Film Showcase,” 6 p.m. Friday, March 10: Short films made by high school students will be screened.
Teens are invited to submit films for consideration by March 1.
Tickets to the screening cost $5 reserved online, and $10 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Teens at MoCA group.
“MoCA Some Noise” open mic night, 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6: The museum is hosting its second open mic night, with a focus on acoustic music performers, but the spotlight is open to all, according to organizers.
The program is free for MoCA members, both to perform and to attend; for non-members, the fee is $5 to perform and $10 to attend.
To sign up to perform for MoCA Some Noise, fill out the form posted here by March 31.
MoCA Westport is located at 19 Newtown Turnpike. For more information, call 203-222-7070.
