WESTPORT — Artist Mark Yurkiw’s illuminated artwork using film transparencies will be on exhibit during December at the Westport Book Shop.

The exhibit, “Art is Always of Its Time,” features 12 pieces by Yurkiw on display through the end of December at the store, 23 Jesup Road. The artwork is available for purchase.

There will be a reception for Yurkiw’s exhibit at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. To register, contact the book shop by calling 203-349-5141 or email bookshop@westportbooksaleventures.org.

The artwork, according to a publicity release, features “illuminated works using large-format film transparencies of 3-dimensional images of the 1980s and 1990s.”

Work by Yurkiw, a Westport resident, over the course of his career has appeared in magazines, advertising, television, feature films, exhibitions and public art. His work has been shown globally, and most recently, was featured in a two-man exhibit at the United Nations.
