WESTPORT — A photographic series of “love notes” to Westport is showcased in a May exhibit by guest artist Rowene Weems at the Westport Book Shop.
The exhibit, “Wish You Were Here: Postcards from Westport,” features 16 photos of local scenes. It will be on display through the end of May at the downtown book store, 23 Jesup Road.
“I sometimes feel the camera is an extension of my body — it has always been my instrument for artistic exploration, experimentation and expression,” Weems said in a publicity release for the exhibit.
“Through the lens, I gain a deeper understanding of and connection with the world.”
Weems, who moved to Westport from Wyoming four years ago, has had photographs chosen for competitions and exhibits in venues across the country. To see more of the artist’s work, visit her website.
