NORWALK — The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum and Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield are teaming up for a special art exhibition focusing on the Irish-American immigrant experience in the early 19th century.

A Journey of Hope: The Irish American Immigrant Experience will have its opening reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. The exhibition will be on view through May 17th and feature paintings and sculptures displayed in the mansion’s art gallery and servants’ quarters.

The event will feature music by The Shamroques and refreshments from O’Neill’s Irish Pub and Restaurant. Tickets can be purchased here.

The exhibition was made possible through a loan from Quinnipiac University.
