BRIDGEPORT — Break out your pink attire. Legally Blonde is taking the stage next week!
A stage performance based on the hit 2001 film, arranged by the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts, will debut at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 19th, at the Klein Auditorium in Bridgeport. Shows will continue to run through Sunday, March 22nd.
The story follows Elle Woods, who fights the “ditzy blonde” stereotype as she pursues a degree at Harvard Law School. The stage adaptation includes energetic music and dance numbers, with Stamford native Kate Morton in the leading role.
The 8 p.m. performance on Friday, March 20th, will be a special “Out Night” celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, with audiences invited to “celebrate love, inclusivity, and community in a performance that embraces the musical’s message of authenticity and pride.”
Audiences who wear pink, Elle’s favorite color, to the Saturday and Sunday matinees will be entered into a raffle to meet Morton and receive a swag bag.
“This show is pure joy,” said Danny Loftus-George, the show’s director. “Our cast and creative team have poured their hearts into bringing Elle’s story to life with humor, heart, and high-voltage talent. I am incredibly proud of what our students and community artists have accomplished. It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it perfectly captures the spirit of believing in yourself.”
