WESTPORT — Justin Paul, a former Westport resident and Staples High School graduate who has gone on to win Oscar, Grammy, Tony and Olivier awards across the entertainment spectrum, will be in the hometown spotlight Sept. 9 for a Westport Country Playhouse showcase.

“An Evening with Justin Paul & Friends” will feature the composer and lyricist, joined by two other big-name performers with local ties — and Tony Awards, as well — singer and actress Kelli O’Hara of Westport and actor James Naughton of Weston.

The event is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the playhouse, 25 Powers Court.

Tickets, on sale for $300 and $500, can be reserved online by clicking here. A limited number of $1,000 tickets also are available, including a post-performance reception with Paul and other performers. They can be reserved by contacting Catherine MacKay, playhouse operations and special events coordinator, at cmackay@westportplayhouse.org or 203-571-1141.

Paul is best known for his award-winning collaboration, with Benj Pasek, on musical scores for the movies “La La Land” and “The Greatest Showman,” and the Broadway show, “Dear Evan Hansen.”

Among his other credits are the movies “Spirited,” “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” “Aladdin” and “Trolls;” television’s “Harlem,” “Smash,” “The Flash,” “A Christmas Story, Live!” and season three of “Only Murders in the Building;” Broadway’s “A Christmas Story: The Musical,” and Off-Broadway and regional theater’s “Dogfight,” “James and the Giant Peach” and “Edges.” Future projects include Disney’s live-action “Snow White.”

O’Hara won a 2015 Tony Award for her performance in the revival of the musical, “The King and I,” at the Lincoln Center Theater, and has been nominated for her roles in several other shows. She also was honored at a playhouse gala in 2015 and the Malloy Lecture in the Arts program at the Westport Library in 2021.

Naughton earned Tony Awards for his roles in “Chicago” and “City of Angels.” At the playhouse, he directed “Our Town,” which transferred to Broadway, and among other roles, appeared in “James Naughton: Street of Dreams,” produced by Mike Nichols.

Caley Beretta, another Staples High School graduate, is the director of “An Evening with Justin Paul & Friends.” She is the senior manager of creative development at Disney Theatrical Group.
