WESTPORT — The return of the Heida Hermanns Piano Competition, which MoCA Westport planned to host over three days later this month, has been postposed because of concerns about the latest upsurge in COVID-19 cases.
Museum officials, announcing Tuesday the postponement of the January event, said they plan to reschedule the competition involving four young pianists to June.
The internationally renowned cultural event was due to make its return after a two-year hiatus on Jan. 13-15 at the museum, with master classes planned at the Westport Library.
“All current tickets will be valid for the June performances,” MoCA officials said announcing the postponement on the museum blog. ”We thank you for your support of this esteemed competition.”
More details about the cancellation of the January competition and its planned rescheduling in June will be forthcoming, according to the announcement.
