WESTPORT–The Westport Book Shop is highlighting the local artist Gregg Ziebell for the month of August at the Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place. Ziebell’s exhibition showcases original oil paintings, including still lifes, landscapes, and seascapes. 

Ziebell describes his work as Contemporary Impressionism: “Life is my  inspiration. I begin with what I see in the world around me, then weave my emotions into each work.”

Ziebell earned a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati, and also  studied Advertising, Layout and Design at the GSAA Commercial School of Art. He  continues to expand his artistic practice through classes and workshops at the Silvermine Arts Guild in Norwalk. 

The Westport Book Shop will hold a reception for Ziebell and his exhibit on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited; please RSVP to the Book Shop by phoning 203-349-5141 or sending an email to RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org

The art exhibit is open to the public during the Book Shop’s regular business hours: Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m. All artwork on display is available for purchase.
