WESTPORT–Photographers 18 and under are invited to take part in the 10th annual Young Shoots Photography Program & Contest.
The contest invites photographers to take photos at the Westport Farmers Market (WFM) during the month of July (remaining dates are July 9, 16, 23 and 30). Contestants will be divided into age groups.
In recognition of The International Year of the Woman Farmer, in addition to “best photo” in each age group, a prize will be given in each age group for the photo that best pays tribute to the women farmers of the WFM.
The contest is conducted in partnership with The Artists Collective of Westport and the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center.
Photograph submissions will be accepted through July 30, 2026, at youngshoots2026.artcall.org.

The winning photos will be judged by a panel of local artists and luminaries.
The culmination of the contest will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 6-7 p.m. at Gilbertie’s Garden Center, at 7 Sylvan Road, Westport. BadAss Bagels will cater the event; age group winners and cash prizes will be announced.
Westport artist Miggs Burroughs remarked: “There is so much to love about the Westport Farmers’ Market, but as a local artist I am honored to be involved with their ‘Young Shoots’ initiative. Not only does it give young talent an opportunity to shine like ripe tomatoes at the market, but it nourishes the community with a feast of photographic goodness!”
