WESTPORT — Three finalists have been named in the annual Teen Diversity Essay Contest sponsored by TEAM Westport, the town’s multi-cultural advocacy committee.

Top prizes in the 10th annual contest, whose theme this year is “The Dialogue Challenge: Effective Engagement on Race, Ethnicity, Religion and LGBTQIA+,” will presented in a ceremony set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road.

The three finalists are: Tyler Darden, a Staples High School senior; Annie Dizon, a Greens Farms Academy senior, and Savvy Dreas, a Greens Farms Academy junior.

The contest, co-sponsored by the Westport Library, was open to all local high school students who attend classes in Westport and those who live in town but attend school elsewhere.

Based on the contest judges’ opinions, the finalists will be awarded cash prizes, respectively, of $1,000 for first prize, $750 for second prize and $500 for third.
