WESTPORT — A comedy about neighbors whose friendship devolves into a feud and, on the flip side, a concert celebrating songs of love are the next attractions at Westport Country Playhouse.
“Native Gardens,” a play centered on the fallout when two backyards share one fence, will debut at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, and run through March 8, at the playhouse, 25 Powers Court.

The play, written by Karen Zacarías, is the story of what happens when “expectant parents Tania and Pablo Del Valle move in next door to longtime suburbanites Virginia and Frank Butley. A dispute over their yard’s property line spirals into an epic, flower-flinging war over taste, class, personal identity … and gardening,” according to the theater’s publicity for the production.
The cast, directed by JoAnn M. Hunter, includes Paula Leggett Chase, Adam Heller, Linedy Genao and Anthony Michael Martinez.
A concert with heart
“An Evening to Celebrate Love,” a musical showcase featuring songs about love, will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center, next to the playhouse.
The event, planned for the Valentine’s Day weekend, will feature songs from the musical “Once,” as well as traditional and original songs reflecting a theme of love.
