WESTPORT–A Manchester, Connecticut, woman has been arrested after police say she gave a cannabis gummy to a younger relative at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Behavioral Health Inpatient Services in Westport.
Kimberly Champlin, 34, allegedly gave the THC-infused edible to her family member, a juvenile, last year, police said. The juvenile later told people he had gotten “high” at the center at 47 Long Lots Road, police said.
When word got back to the staff, they contacted the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, which notified police on Oct. 20, 2025.
On Tuesday, Connecticut State Police Troop F told Westport police that Champlin was being held on the warrant for her arrest. Westport police brought her to police headquarters, where she was charged with risk of injury to a child. She was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Stamford on May 29.
