
WESTPORT — If you’re looking to pick up some summer reading or add to your book collection, The Westport Library has you covered.
The library’s Big Spring Book Sale begins on Friday, May 15th and runs through Monday, May 18th. Visitors can peruse a selection of thousands of gently used books in more than 50 categories spanning both fiction and non-fiction. The sale also has collections of antiquarian books, vintage vinyl records, DVDs, and CDs.
While admission is free, patrons can purchase an Early Access ticket via Eventbrite for early access to the sale on Friday. This pass allows the holder to visit the sale from 8:45 a.m. until its opening to general admission at 12 p.m.
On Monday, shoppers can fill a Westport Library logo bag for $10 or their own equivalent-sized bag for $8. Individual books are available for half-price on this day.
The library notes that it has several items of special interest this year, including a large collection of vintage travel and exploration books; group of books on varying environmental topics including earth science, ecology, and climate change, large collections of books on ballet, opera, and opera singers; and a wide selection of comic books, jigsaw puzzles, and framed artwork. There will also be a conference room filled with fiction available for $1 a book.
