WESTPORT – Westport Animal Shelter Advocates has both puppies and adult dogs available for adoption as the weather warms.
WASA is fostering and overseeing the adoption of several fluffy pups. Five in total, there are four boys and one girl, Puddin’. The mother is a golden chow, and the father is a tan Shiba Inu.
WASA also scheduled and funded the spay and neuter of the parents to prevent future “oops” litters. Ideal adopters will have time, patience and breed experience. A home visit is part of the adoption process. WASA has a limited adoption radius.
The agency also has several older dogs available for adoption.

Rocket
Rocket is a 7-year-old dachshund mix that came to us upon his owner’s inability to continue his care. He loves his people and is receiving a little help with our friends at Keep Them Wagging (https://keepthemwagging.com/) with his interactions with dogs, people and cars in the world outside his indoor comfort zone.

Princess
Princess is a local owner surrender due to the death of her pet parent. This sweet senior girl, after never having any level of vet care, has been spending some time at the vet – but doing very well. She loves the attention she is receiving, the healthy food she is eating and the walks she is taking multiple times a day. She has not been reactive to other dogs, but we will know more in the days to come.

Ginger
Ginger is a petite, 4-year-old hound mix that due to her fostering family is well socialized with dogs, cats, children and adults. She has been beautifully trained by our friends at Keep Them Wagging and loves a good game of fetch.

Norman
Norman hails from Norwalk Animal Control after he was found emaciated. Norman’s heart is full of love. He is a friend to children, adults, dogs, and cats. He is approximately 4 years old. While he enjoys life in his foster home, he needs a forever family.

Stanley
Stanley is a 3 to 4-year-old smaller dog. Stanley needs a confident owner that has the time to put in getting to know him prior to adoption. He enjoys car rides, going for walks and making new friends.

Parker
Parker is in his senior years and could be a wonderful companion for an individual or family. Short walks and serene, quiet time at home would suit him.
