WESTPORT–For the 46th consecutive year, the Westport Weston Family YMCA’s Point to Point Open Water Swim Race will take place at Compo Beach on Sunday, July 20.

One of the longest-running sporting traditions of the town, registration will start at 7:00 a.m. and the race for swimmers ages 14 and up will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Ages 7+

Young swimmers will also compete. Ages 7-10 will compete over 100 yards, and ages 11-14 over 200 yards.

And Point to Point is far from just for fun and games: proceeds benefit the YMCA’s swim lesson programs, designed to help children and adults learn critical swimming skills, including lifesaving.

“As a coastal community, water safety is not just a skill, it’s a necessity,” Brian Ference, Aquatics Director, said in a press release issued on the event. “Point to Point is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of community, wellness, and our shared commitment to making sure everyone has the chance to become a strong and confident swimmer.”

This event is also far from a Fairfield County exclusive. Swimmers from Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and other New England states have competed in past years.

Entry Fees:

  • $60 advance registration
  • $75 day-of registration
  • All participants receive a swim cap, t-shirt, and race timing chip.

After the race, awards will be presented and a light breakfast will be served.
