WESTPORT — Innovators, entrepreneurs, big thinkers … Got a great idea?
StartUp Westport wants to hear from you.
The public-private partnership “dedicated to cultivating entrepreneurship and driving innovation” locally and across the state, has launched a “Pitch” competition.
The event, designed to spotlight and support new enterprises, will culminate in a “Shark Tank”-like finale for a five-figure cash prize in November at the Westport Library, a co-sponsor.
Applications are being accepted until 11 p.m. June 12. For additional details about qualifications to enter the Pitch competition and to apply, click here.
Startups selected to participate will be notified June 19. They then will receive coaching and support throughout spring and summer from StartUp Westport mentors, the Westport Library’s business librarian and others. In September, four finalists will be chosen to make their pitch live at the finale.
“This competition will provide crucial mentorship and networking opportunities and showcase local talent and ideas,” Peter Propp, StartUp Westport vice president and competition co-chair, said in a publicity release.
