WESTPORT — A Hamden man has been implicated in a ring of thieves targeting tires and wheel rims at the local Honda and Toyota dealerships last fall.

Brandon Sullo, 22, was charged April 14 with first-degree larceny, three counts of second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny and three counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.

Sullo is not the only person involved in the thefts, police said, and more arrests are expected.

Thefts from vehicles parked at the dealerships, first reported last Oct. 7 about 3:45 a.m., continued “intermittently” until Nov. 23, police said.

Investigators used recordings of video surveillance, as well as search warrants and information shared with other law-enforcement agencies, to confirm the identity of Brandon Sullo as one of the suspects in the case, according to the report.

A warrant for Sullo’s arrest was issued and he turned himself in April 14 at Police Department headquarters. He posted $150,000 bond on the local charges, but was turned over to Torrington police, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Sullo is scheduled to be arraigned on the Westport charges May 5 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
