WESTPORT — Downtown was filled with Halloween spirit — hundreds, actually — Tuesday afternoon.
They were the costumed marchers in the annual Children’s Halloween Parade.
Princesses, witches, cartoon characters and dinosaurs were among the candy-hunting characters who collected treats from merchants as they headed up Main Street to Town Hall and Veterans Green.
They were greeted by First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker, dressed as a cowboy(girl?), while firefighters and EMS personnel let youngsters check out emergency vehicles. The Halloween event is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, Westport Downtown Association and Westport Police Athletic League.
