WESTPORT — Quarterback Caleb Smith did his damage on foot Friday as the Staples High football team ran over visiting Stamford 21-10.

Smith rushed 28 times for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The QB also completed six of 16 pass attempts for 74 yards.

Alex Fiala rushed five times for 36 yards and a TD.

Sam Petrosino had an interception.

The Wreckers, third in the Class LL state rankings, improved to 5-1 overall heading into a Friday, Oct. 27, visit to Danbury at 7 p.m.  (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
